With the ENJA LEGACY REVUE, a select lineup shall take the stage in the anniversary year of 2021, representative of the innovative charisma of this young Enja Generation which, once more, will live up to the nominal meaning of Enja: European New Jazz; new musical currents in the European context.
The Enja-Legacy Acts are Ark Noir and LBT. The multi-award-winning techno piano trio LBT have already gained much attention for themselves with their acoustic reprocessing of techno and modern jazz. Ark Noir excitingly expands the sound spectrum as Enja newcomers from Munich who create an enormously eclectic, electronic multi-genre-sound with krautrock spirit.
Legacy meets Legends: Enja Legends take the same stage on select Revue evenings as the 'young & wild.' Depending on the collective history of festival and label, it could be such artists as Marc Ribot, Abdullah Ibrahim, Rabih Abou-Khalil, Philip Catherine etc. We're already looking forward to an exhilarating anniversary with energetic, contemporary artists!

Bold music for enthusiasts with attentive ears. Vitality since the early 70s. The renowned, worldwide successful independent jazz label Enja Records is celebrating its 50th Anniversary in 2021. Its wild and ingenious spirit of discovery first yielded acoustic modern jazz and soon pioneered towards world- and electronic music. Nearly 1000 productions have emerged in this manner over the past five decades with legends such as Abudllah Ibrahim, Rabih Abou-Khalil, Chet Baker, Renaud Garcia-Fons, Archie Shepp and many more. With uninterrupted love for individual artists and bold music, modern & contemporary currents stand in Enja's wakem and it is now up to a new generation of artists to come into its musical inheritance: the ENJA LEGACY REVUE. Ark Noir
A collective that defies most typical genre association, Ark Noir blends electronic- inspired beats with instrumental improvisation to create new sounds derived from a plethora of influences. Not necessarily a “dance band,“ Ark Noir considers its music conducive to movement, capable of transmitting cinematic imagery into listeners’ minds.

LBT
Live Techno. Achieved purely acoustically on piano, bass and drums without computers or synthesizers. From lyrical to minimal, deep to industrial: the sound of LBT is multifaceted while being constantly pushed forward by a pulsing bass drum. Their music is a journey within, inviting dreams and ecstatic dancing alike. Having grown up on modern jazz, this trio takes its true love seriously: improvisation. One might hear delicate phrasing from the piano or its strings prepared with guitar picks, the bass bowed beautifully or nearly chopped to pieces, and the drums fully exhausted from fine rustling to mighty grooves.
