Richie Beirach is one of the great and esteemed jazz pianists of our time. Gregor Huebner is a violinist and internationally sought after as a composer. For 25 years, the two have also been successfully touring as a duo, described as one of the best modern jazz and modern chamber ensembles of our time, without stylistic boundaries. Both see concertizing as composers and instrumentalists, taking the prescribed material very seriously, but willing to be impulsive in their improvisation and in the moment forgetting everything and letting intuition lead. As a duo, the two have performed in Asia, Europe and the United States, documented on numerous CD recordings such as "New York Rhapsody" and "Duality." They demonstrate the duo's ability to move freely between classical modern music and jazz improvisation. In 2022 Richie Beirach celebrated his 75th birthday and the duo Richie Beirach/Gregor Huebner its 25th anniversary. Reason enough for a belated double birthday concert also celebrated in Vienna!
