Swing music was the pop music of the 1930s. Jazz giants such as Duke Ellington and Count Basie played dance music for an audience of millions.
Dance plays a special role in the new program of the "Prisoners of Swing": Martin Breinschmid has invited Lindy Hop experts Katrin Horngacher and Petar Paradzikovic as well as tap dance master Thomas Marek as guest artists. An international frontline with the brilliant Tanja Filipovic from Belgrade, the multi-instrumentalist Frank Roberscheuten from Holland, Germany's Swing Pianists No1 Thilo Wagner as well as Harry Putz bass and Martin Breinschmid drums/vibraphone make this venture one of the most interesting new projects in classical jazz.
