1st set
The trio JazzDragons, with Viola Falb (sax), Ingrid Oberkanins (perc) and Harald*Huber (keys), takes up John Zorn's Game Pieces and ignites the fault lines between prepared and quite digestible jazz pieces and freely improvised passages, which are structured by means of special sign systems. Individual musicians from the AAWA will be invited as guests to take part in the pieces, which will be drawn into the stream of improvisation and opened up ("drag & drop").

2nd set
The "Afro Arabiq Walzer Archestra" (AAWA) not only brings Arab, West African and Austrian musical traditions into contact with each other, but also creates a musical fusion. Iraqi and Syrian songs, Maghrebian Gnawa rhythms, Austrian waltz traditions and free jazz passages are combined to create a new kind of mixture. The result is a transcultural encounter zone that transforms the Afrofuturist spirit of Sun Ra's "Intergalactic Research Archestra" into a 21st century string & percussion landscape.
