The acclaimed Finnish composer and pianist Kari Ikonen has developed his own unique musical language, inspired by various musical traditions from around the world. He has a special interest in Arabic, Turkish and Persian music. To be able to play these microtonal maqamat on an acoustic grand piano, he invented the revolutionary Maqiano™ microtuning system. (Maqam, plural maqamat is the term used in Arabic, Turkish and Persian art music for the mode of a piece of music).

The Berlin-based Swiss clarinet virtuoso Claudio Puntin is an extraordinary combination of originality and outstanding professionalism. Delicate melodies, almost impossible to play passages, or constantly evolving improvisations. He is an expert at it.

Keyvan Chemirani, born in Paris, is a member of a famous Persian family of musicians. An agile improviser and master of various percussion instruments such as zarb or daf (both types of drums from the Arab-Persian region), he feels just as much at home in the music of the Middle East or India as he does in jazz, experimental or early music.
Together, these three gentlemen take the listener on a magical journey through time and space: from the untouched Nordic forest, to the bazaars of ancient Persepolis, and on to distant, unknown galaxies.
