Three masters of modern world music unite for a unique trio
The international music scene can look forward to an extraordinary trio: KAREN ASATRIAN, ARTYOM MANUKYAN and ARTO TUNÇBOYACIYAN - three musicians with deep Armenian roots and individual, award-winning careers - are coming together in Austria for the first time. This renowned formation promises a musical experience that blurs the boundaries between jazz, avant-garde and traditional Armenian music in an exciting way.

KAREN ASATRIAN, composer and jazz pianist, is known for his cross-genre compositions, including the acclaimed "Prayer Wheel", a jazz mass that brought him to leading stages such as the Salzburg Festspielhaus. Asatrian, who was born in Armenia and is based in Austria, shows a passionate connection to his Armenian roots in his works, combining them with Western jazz tradition. Through his projects, including the founding of the avant-garde folk-jazz group "Armenian Spirit", he has reinterpreted Armenian music for a wide audience.

ARTYOM MANUKYAN, a virtuoso cellist and bassist who has lived in Los Angeles for years, has made a name for himself through his cross-genre skills and collaborations with artists such as Kamasi Washington, Everlast and Flying Lotus. With an unmistakable modern approach, Manukyan transforms the cello into a bass instrument, creating a unique sound language that combines jazz, rock and electronic elements. His versatility is also evident in his work as a sought-after session musician for film and television as well as the creative mind behind solo and collaborative albums.

The legendary percussionist and singer ARTO TUNÇBOYACIYAN brings a special sound world to the trio. With his innovative style, which harmonizes elements of jazz and Armenian folklore, Tunçboyacıyan has been shaping the musical landscape for decades. He has been performing worldwide since the 1980s and has worked with greats such as Joe Zawinul and Al Di Meola. As founder of the "Armenian Navy Band" and co-founder of the "Serart" project with Serj Tankian (System of a Down), he has cemented his musical identity as a bridge between cultures and traditions.

Together, ASATRIAN, MANUKYAN and TUNÇBOYACIYAN combine their unique musical approaches to create an innovative sound experience.
