Ukandanz transport us to another world with their timeless reflection of Ethio-jazz. As the band's name suggests (meaning "you can dance"), the untamed music, which is as subtle as it is wild and which they themselves call "Ethiopian Crunch", transports us into an ecstatic trance. The high-energy quintet combines explosive polyrhythms with progressive rock, punk and experimental sounds - shaped by years of intense live performances. The iconic singer Asnake Gebreyes from Adis Ababa takes center stage. His haunting, powerful voice draws on the energy of the millennia-old sounds of his native Ethiopia. With the new program from the upcoming album "Evil Plan" (April 2025) and their fascinating mixture of Ethiopian tradition and contemporary interpretation, Ukandanz once again inspire their international audience.
