When Austrian bassist Lukas Kranzelbinder heard Danyèl Waro's music for the first time, he was overcome by a deep sense of overwhelming emotion. The singer's unique voice and presence, paired with the sweat-inducing rhythms of his songs, have stayed with him ever since and the deep desire to make music together one day was born. 8 years later, this dream became reality and Kranzelbinder traveled to the island of La Réunion with his long-time musical partners Mario Rom and Herbert Pirker (Interzone) to meet the legendary musician and his band. After an intensive week of rehearsing, eating and spending time together, a musical program was created that combines the unique energy of Danyèl Waro's Maloya style with the fresh and playful approach of Interzone. The world premiere of this program took place in July 2022 as part of the Glatt & Verkehrt festival.
