Jahson The Scientist is a “wordsman” and has been described as a Spoken Word Artist, eMCee and anything in-between. Raised in both London and Montserrat (Caribbean) the lyricist’s music is centred in hip hop with afro and soul influences.

Jahson was named "Star of The Week” for his No Doubt EP, rounded up in the Best of 2016 with his trio Scattah Brain, and in 2021 Sketches found themselves No.1 for 3 weeks on Austria's Indie Charts. His performance with Sketches at Popfest was featured on the evening news highlights, Zib 2. The Scientist has a focus on human potential and he often gives the listener a view through the keyhole to the riddle of Adam from atoms, culture, “black” matters, science and spirit.

As a versatile performer who is found on stage with Sketches on Duality, a clarinet quartet, 16 piece band, solo or otherwise. A true live artist who lives every moment onstage, The Scientist is known for his ability to create songs in the moment, his use of word-play and ability to inspire. Audiences from London to Den Hague, Marseilles to Taiwan have witnessed his performances which combine live instrumentation with samples/beats or just the naked word.

He has performed at festivals like DonauInselfest, Reeperbahn, Popfest, Kultursommer, Soundframe and Soundcity Liverpool. Other performances MQ Winter Opening with SK Invitational, Ty, Homeboy Sandman, FM4's Session alongside The Ruff Pack, Oe1 with Sketches and support for The Roots, Inner Circle and GZA amongst others.

2024 looks like it will be quite a year for Jahson as upcoming releases include an EP with drum n bass stalwarts UK heritage awarded De Underground, his solo release “Inner Heights”, Love Life Metaphors and Earth Tone Poems and more.
