A Power Trio not to be missed!

Per Mathisen is Norway’s answer to Jaco Pastorius on e-bass and Niels Henning Ørsted Pedersen on upright acoustic. He has performed with many of the most famous jazz musicians in the world in as many as 45 countries. His new trio features the greatest Icelandic drummer ever, Gulli Briem and his brother, Norwegian Grammy winner, Hans Mathisen on guitar.

There is a fierce punch in the music, virtuosity at the highest level and oozing joy of playing, which is contagious to the audience from the first bar. Highly electric jazz rock, funk, pop, rock and some beautiful ballads in a beautiful union. The songs performed are compositions from the members of the trio.

Per “Bass Viking” Mathisen has released as many as 20 CD’s worldwide, collaborated with: Robben Ford, Alex Acuna, Terje Rypdal, Mike Stern, Gary Husband, Bill Bruford, Jojo Mayer, Jon Christensen, Adam Nussbaum, Nguyen Le, Terri Lyne Carrington, Geri Allen, Gary Thomas, Ulf Wakenius, Bill Evans, Keith Carlock to name a few.

Gulli Briem is one of the founders of the super group “Mezzoforte” and the drummer on absolutely all of their albums. Has done countless tours with the band in Europe and Asia. 3 albums under his own name and has worked with names such as: Madonna, Morten Harket, Steve Hackett.

Hans Mathisen is a Norwegian Grammy winner and critically acclaimed guitarist with his own major productions, including with “The Norwegian Broadcasting Symphony Orchestra”. Hans has played in lots of countries around the world and especially a lot in South America. Performed with greats such as: Jason Rebello, Gary Husband, Audun Kleive, Bendik Hofseth, Paquito D’Rivera.
