It`s Hammond Time at P&B! We are celebrating the 60th anniversary of the founding of the R'n'B quartet The Meters, the epitome of New Orleans funk and pioneers of the world-famous Neville Brothers. Geri Schuller has called together a dream line-up to celebrate the songs of Art Neville, Leo Nocentelli, George Porter and Zigaboo Modeliste. And in the bone-dry original version, unironed and free of emollients. To ensure that the evening does not end in a funk nostalgia tribute, the band leader also contributes one or two funk instrumentals from his own pen. After all, his colleagues Holoubek, Lackner and Schneider also contributed to the current album. Together with percussionist extraordinaire Iris Camaa, the ensemble is already looking forward to all Funkateers who will find their way to Riemergasse (or to the screen)! (Geri Schuller)
