Dr. Oscar E. Peterson is one of the most prolific Jazz pianists of all times. Born in 1925 in Montréal, Canada, Peterson’s more than six-decade international career is preserved in over 500 recordings and more than 200 albums of his own. Peterson was the recipient of eight Grammy® awards (including a Lifetime Achievement Award), as well as many recognitions, such as Companion to the Order of Canada (his home-country’s highest honour) the Glenn Gould Award, or Chevalier de l’Ordre des Arts et des Lettres in France. Peterson died in 2007 at the age of 82, leaving behind an incomparable legacy that is as eternal as Jazz itself.

The musicians
A protégé of the late Ray Brown, bassist, composer, arranger and producer John Clayton has worked with Milt Jackson, Count Basie, Diana Krall, Monty Alexander, Regina Carter, Dee Dee Bridgewater, Gladys Knight, Queen Latifah, McCoy Tyner, to name just a few. With a Grammy® on his shelf and nine additional nominations, Clayton was the principal bassist in the Amsterdam Philharmonic Orchestra from 1980 to 1984. Since 1986, he is one of the co-leaders of the multi-GRAMMY® nominated Clayton-Hamilton Jazz Orchestra.

Jeff Hamilton ‘s career’s highlights include The New Tommy Dorsey Orchestra, Lionel Hampton, The Monty Alexander Trio (with John Clayton), Woody Herman, The L.A.4 (with Ray Brown, Bud Shank and Laurindo Almeida), Ella Fitzgerald, The Count Basie Orchestra, Rosemary Clooney, The Ray Brown Trio and, from 1990 to 1995, The Oscar Peterson Quartet. He is also one of the co- leaders of the Clayton-Hamilton Jazz Orchestra. One of the most prolific drummers of his generation, he has participated in over 300 recording sessions.

Sullivan Fortner is one of the most respected pianists of his generation. Winner of a Grammy® Award and with three additional nominations, the New Orleans native has worked with Wynton Marsalis, Cécile McLorin Salvant, Diane Reeves, Etienne Charles, John Scofield, Ambrose Akinmusire, Dee Dee Bridgewater, Stefon Harris, Peter Bernstein, Nicholas Payton, Billy Hart, Gary Bartz, and the late Roy Hargrove. Winner of the 2024 DownBeat Critics Poll for Rising Star Jazz Group, further accolades include the Ray Brown’s preferred disciples, with American Pianists Association’s Cole Porter Fellowship, Leonore Annenberg Arts a Grammy© on his shelf and nine Fellowship and the Lincoln Center Award for Emerging Artists additional nominations.
