Limosa Limosa is a new group with the internationally renowned singer Nelida Karr from Equatorial Guinea and the Dutch bassist Luc Ex. “Limosa Limosa” is the Latin name for a “black-tailed godwit”, a bird that migrates between Africa and Europe. This is exactly what the music does. It combines the overwhelming African singing of Karr with the contemporary improvisational blues of Luc Ex. After their musical encounter last year at the Moers Jazz Festival in Germany, both were so enthusiastic about the collaboration that they decided to continue it.

In the meantime, the group has formed further and consists of Angelo Mustapha on drums (Benin), the Belgian cellist Saartje van Camp (known from Spin vis) and the Finnish guitarist Mikaël Szafirowski.
