Maria Gstättner: bassoon, contraforte, voice, concept, composition
Lorelei Dowling: bassoon, contraforte

The CCC Trilogy is a musical-performative cycle that opens up different perspectives on sound, communication, and transformation over the course of three concert evenings.

The trilogy musically and performatively addresses various aspects of human and sonic closeness, transformation, and connectedness—both on an acoustic and content level. Each of the three concerts is independent in its instrumentation, sound language, and form, yet the works are conceptually and dramaturgically linked. The trilogy moves between contemporary chamber music, electroacoustic sound research, and performative interaction.

In close up is about zooming in on sonic and emotional micro-moments. The instruments act as acoustic “magnifying glasses” that bring sounds, nuances, and the smallest impulses to the fore. The voice functions as a connection between inside and outside, intimacy and expression. The focus is on closeness to sound – both physically and psychologically.
