(...) Another current focus of Harri Stojka's live work is clearly the formation ACOUSTIC DRIVE together with his congenial partners. Here, Stojka's style traces another of his important influences, Django Reinhardt and his musical universe. The guitarist succinctly outlines the approach of ACOUSTIC DRIVE as “modern jazz soloism with an acoustic gypsy sound.”
What these words succinctly characterize transcends the limitations of a pure tribute in concert. Stojka & Co. go full throttle with their instrumental expressive possibilities, letting their musicality speak not only through Reinhardt's material, but also moving just as dynamically with Harri Stojka's own compositions. The “drive” in the band's name can be taken literally and quickly captivates the audience.
