Luisa Muhr is an Austrian–New Yorker experimental vocalist and interdisciplinary artist whose work centers on voice, sound, and physical movement. Her practice spans improvisation, composition, installation, performance art, movement/dance, and experimental music theater. Muhr released her debut solo album TEUFLIN/SHE-DEVIL, praised by The New York City Jazz Record for its “utterly haunting vocals” and described as “a rewarding journey for courageous musical explorers.” This was followed by In Trialogue, a live recording at Vienna's Porgy & Bess (2024), and her third album, Under Over World (2025). Austria’s Skug Magazin described Muhr as “a marvelous singer,” praising her “soul-warming timbre, impeccable intonation, variation, and remarkable ability to invent words and sounds spontaneously while singing.” Artists and ensembles Muhr has worked with include Claire Chase, Shelley Hirsch, Meredith Monk, Arturo O’Farrill, William Parker, John Zorn, and the New York Philharmonic.

In this special quartet (and first-time collaboration) she is joined by friends and colleagues: American violist Jessica Pavone, a veteran in the New York avant-garde scene; American, Vienna-based guitarist Eric Arn, who also appears on In Trialogue; and Costa Rican, New York-based bassist, Kenneth Jiménez, featured on Under Over World. Together, the four masterful improvisers will weave an intimate sonic dialogue, closely listening to one another and inviting audiences on a journey into the soul through sound.
