Although half a century doesn’t necessarily make you wiser, Philip Yaeger notes, you do develop certain things: for example, a distinctive musical style as a composer, trombonist, and, most recently, vocalist. And you’ve got a few good stories to tell, too. Will he talk about his 22 years in Austria—and the time before that—at his anniversary celebration? Maybe, because over time he has become a bit more talkative. Will he play music from those days? Definitely—but also new material, because the past is also the prologue to the here and now.
